Stop Press

Home | Back to TESOL | Stop Press Sample

This program simulates the Editor's desk of a busy national newspaper. It is the students' task to complete an article by the time the paper goes to press. News stories and updates arrive thick and fast. These updates will change the students' perception of the issue and must be incorporated into the article by the time the deadline is reached. This program provides the outline of 10 different news items. Titles include Fire On The 27th Floor, Situations Vacant, Blind Date, and Rhinos In Crisis. The program requires minimal teacher input, although it is easy to edit the content of the stories and control the timing of the updates, etc. through a simple menu. Teachers can also create their own stories. Windows 98/95/3.1.
