Why mix English and the target language?

The quizzes are designed to stimulate student's brains by being fast and furious fun. We could have settled for extensive vocabulary tests - but these exist already.

The decision to mix L1 and L2 is quite deliberate - if your French is good enough to cope with "Dans quel conte de fées apparaît Blanche Neige?" then the quiz is too simple for you - but "In which fairy tale does Blanche Neige appear?" allows, with the help of clues, the weaker student to think about blanc/blanche and neiger/la neige adn to derive some pleasure in working out the answer.
